I have ten years of experience tutoring students, especially in reading and writing. I began tutoring when I was still a high school student, in fact. At Columbia University's Barnard College, I was selected as a Writing Fellow. This was an honor bestowed on only a small number of students. I worked on my fellowship for three years, and the whole time I was learning deeper critical analysis and writing. I was assistant to other students with writing projects from beginning to end. I am proud to say that my feedback was the best of all the fellows during the three years at Barnard. I have used the expertise I gained through this rigorous program to tutor a large number of high school students as they write their college applications and essays. I look at applications as the student's way to tell the story of who they are, so the admissions officers feel like they get to know the student. I guide the student through the writing process, so they learn even as they are applying to colleges. I am able to tutor students in a wide variety of subjects in addition to writing, such as history, social science, literature, and a number of AP classes. In my spare time, I enjoy writing, yoga, running, and reading.
