Experience
I earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Bethune-Cookman University, then went on to receive a master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education from Hunter College. Both my educational background and my experience have equipped me to help students improve their performance in the classroom environment and one-on-one. One of my strengths as a tutor and teacher is that I'm able to uncover innovative methods and modify my approach in order to reach students who are challenged by the subject matter or not amenable to the traditional means of attacking the content. In my current teaching position, I work with students individually and in small groups. I enjoy reading, particularly about current events. I also love to travel, explore, and expand my knowledge of our world. I find it very rewarding to help students who are struggling see the material differently and grow not just in their performances in the classroom, but also in their ability to succeed academically and beyond. I help students with Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Reading, Writing, Grammar, and English.
